Sewing Along on Labor Day

It's Labor Day weekend! My plans include sewing for sure. So far I have worked a little on Carolina Christmas, a quilt designed by Bonnie K. Hunter of Quiltville and offered as a mystery quilt last November and December. I chose to use Bonnie's colors: greens, reds, background and tan rather than gold.

If you have not done a mystery, perhaps consider trying one with Bonnie. Have a look at her past mysteries (Carolina Crossroads, Double Delight) and you will find that they come out quite nicely. The bonus is they're meant to be sewn from scraps so for me it means creating a treasure from bits and pieces that I am not quite sure how I will use. I find that the great variety of fabrics makes for beautiful quilts. Hopefully you find some time to sew.

  2. Favorite fall activity (after quilting) is baking. Too hot to do that in the summer, but in the fall I love to make breads and oven meals and baked desserts and fill my house with those wonderful scents. mary6850 at gmail.com
